Is something missing or wrong?

What to know before you buy

  • Most invoice reminder tools send your template on a timetable you set. The products here have an AI decide the timing, the tone or the channel, and in several of them the words are still yours.
  • Getting reminders into the inbox rather than spam, and sending from your own domain, are often on a higher tier.
  • Caps bite small businesses first: invoices or emails per month, and texts billed on top of the plan.
  • Calling a customer who owes you is regulated in the US in a way email is not. Ask any product that places calls how it handles consent.
  • 4 of the 6 are sold through a sales call.
More from our research

How real (from our first round of research)

Of the 16 products we first found for this job, 12 turned out to run on fixed rules. A later search of the whole market, including products sold to finance teams, brought the AI agents to 7. Most of that wider market sends a template you wrote on a timetable you set, which is automation and was left out. The 7 here publish that an AI decides the timing, the tone or the channel, and 3 of them also place phone calls. In several of them the AI decides when and how firmly to chase, while the words are still yours.

Watch for

Getting the emails into the inbox instead of the spam folder is the recurring paid upgrade, and sending from your own domain is a higher-tier feature at three separate vendors. Volume caps bite the smallest buyers first, with published examples of 150 invoices and 600 emails a month at $69, 100 email reminders a month at one tier, and pricing by open invoice count. Texts are billed on top of the subscription rather than included, at $0.10 each on one page. Calling a debtor is regulated in the US in a way email is not, so ask any vendor that places collection calls how it handles consent.

What owners say

The owner of a small marketing business says nothing else in the business wears him down like chasing money that was promised on a date and did not arrive, and that settling the terms before the work starts has almost never made any difference once the invoice goes out.

Questions to ask in the demo

  1. Does an AI do this, or does a rule? If the answer is “when X happens it sends Y”, you are buying automation, and it should not cost AI prices.
  2. Does it send, or does it draft? Ask for the sentence on their page that says it acts on its own.
  3. Does it do it on its own on this plan, or on the one above? The setting that lets it act without you is often a tier up from the entry price.
