Appointment Reminder Agent: both products
Sends the reminder before the appointment, and in the better products reads the reply and moves the booking. We found two products that do this, from two companies. Both can be bought with a sign-up form. One of two publishes a price.
Why so few? Most products sold for this job run on fixed rules rather than AI, so they are not on this map. See where the AI drops out.
The two products
| Compare | Product | What it does on its own | Built for | How you buy | Starting price |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Brilo AI | Calls and texts customers before the visit to confirm the appointment and rebook the ones who cannot make it. In the vendor’s words: “…managing confirmations and appointment reminders 24/7” Where it says AI does it: “Brilo’s AI voice assistant sends instant confirmations post-booking, reducing no-shows and admin tasks.” Source (opens in a new tab) · checked Sep 24, 2026 | Any size | Sign up yourself | Not published | |
| Dentina | Calls patients to confirm their appointment and to book the recall, and holds the conversation itself. In the vendor’s words: “…she books the calls you miss and calls patients to confirm and book recalls” Where it says AI does it: “Dentina is the leading AI dental receptionist built by a dentist” Source (opens in a new tab) · checked Sep 24, 2026 | Small business, dental | Sign up yourself | $299 per location a month billed annually |
What to know before you buy
- Almost every reminder product sends on the appointment clock from a template you wrote. That is automation, and it often comes inside your booking software already.
- The useful difference is what happens with the reply. Ask whether it reads the reply and moves the booking, or just sends a link to rebook.
- Only 2 products we found put an AI in this job. Voice versions bill by the minute, so price one at your real number of appointments.
- In reviews, the complaints are about slow apps, billing and support, not reminders failing to go out.
More from our research
How real (from our first round of research)
Of the 16 products we first found for this job, 15 turned out to send reminders by fixed rules rather than AI. A later search added one more AI product, a voice agent for dental practices that calls patients to confirm. In the first round, every one of the 14 products we checked sent the reminder itself, on a schedule, with nobody pressing send. Six of the 14 we checked also publish a sentence showing the software reads the reply and moves the booking, including receiving client replies and automatically updating the calendar, and letting patients confirm or decline with the calendar updating itself. The other eight prove only that they send: they take a one-letter confirmation or push the client to a booking link, which means the reschedule still happens through a booking page rather than through the reply. Once you ask whether an AI is doing the work, a reminder fired by the appointment clock from a template you wrote is automation rather than an agent.
Watch for
The reminder itself is rarely the complaint. In app store reviews, the low-star complaints are about the app being slow, billing and support, not about reminders failing to go out. Price transparency is the other issue, because in the first round 5 of the 14 published no price at all. Buying a reminder agent from a voice platform means buying minutes: one free plan is 10 minutes a month and the paid tier is $149 for 600 minutes with 16 cents a minute after, so a clinic with 400 appointments a month is not on the free plan.
What owners say
One asks the room to describe their own setups, and admits he cannot tell whether his has cut no-shows or whether he only assumes it has. His read is that a text is harder to miss and easier to resent, and an email is safer and rarely opened, and he has no idea whether anybody ever taps the calendar link he puts in the confirmation email. He also wants to hear from anyone whose reminders have done more harm than good. A second owner says an empty hour is expensive twice over, once for the missed job and once because nobody else could book it, and asks how to bring no-shows down without turning the booking rules into a set of threats. No product in this research claims to decide for you how many reminders to send.
Questions to ask in the demo
- Does an AI do this, or does a rule? If the answer is “when X happens it sends Y”, you are buying automation, and it should not cost AI prices.
- Does it send, or does it draft? Ask for the sentence on their page that says it acts on its own.
- Does it do it on its own on this plan, or on the one above? The setting that lets it act without you is often a tier up from the entry price.
