What to know before you buy
- These publish pages or push fixes into your live site themselves, and most have a switch to hold changes for your review. Keep it on until you trust it.
- Ask what happens to its changes if you cancel. Some tools make changes that stay only while you subscribe.
- Cheap plans are small: one $5 plan is one post a week. Price it at the volume you want.
- More pages is not the same as more business. One SEO specialist saw 60 AI-written articles go unquoted by AI answer tools while a plain comparison page with real prices was quoted repeatedly.

How real (from our first round of research)
The difference between products that publish and products that only draft is easy to see here. Thirteen products in the first round publish pages, deploy technical fixes or push changes into a live site and say so in plain words, with published lines including running on autopilot and deploying optimizations on its own, publishing to your site, and agents that write the pages, fix the internal linking and publish. Every one of the 13 we checked carries such a sentence, and most also publish a switch that holds changes for you to review, so you can turn the automatic publishing off. The tools that only audit or only draft are a clearly separate group and they are out, including one whose agent is labeled as coming soon.
Watch for
An agent that changes a live site can make changes you did not want: one review page describes unwanted live-site changes including an AI-generated image. Ask what happens to the changes it made if you cancel, because some tools make changes that stay only while you subscribe. Cheap plans are a post a week rather than a content program: one $5 starter is one auto-published post weekly, daily publishing is $15, and one $79 plan is credits the vendor rates at around 25 articles a month. The category knows its own failure mode is low-quality output, and one vendor’s own comparison table names the alternatives as generic drafts that never ask what only you know.
What an SEO specialist says
He says a client paid for 60 AI-written list articles, and three months later the big AI answer tools had not quoted any of them, while a plain comparison page the client already had, with real prices and test results, was quoted repeatedly. His view is that volume will not earn trust with these tools. The agents in this job do write and publish pages by themselves. Whether those pages bring in business is a separate question, and this research did not measure it.
Questions to ask in the demo
- Does an AI do this, or does a rule? If the answer is “when X happens it sends Y”, you are buying automation, and it should not cost AI prices.
- Does it send, or does it draft? Ask for the sentence on their page that says it acts on its own.
- Does it do it on its own on this plan, or on the one above? The setting that lets it act without you is often a tier up from the entry price.
